My daughter started Nashville Marathi School when she was around 7.5 years in Balwadi. As a Marathi family living in the US, we have always struggled to devote time to teaching our daughter the language. With both of us working full-time jobs, this never took priority amidst the day-to-day challenges. She is now 9, in Pahili, and can read, write & speak simple sentences with ease. Regular homework assignments keep progress on track. This is a certificate course that enables kids to earn language credit when it comes to higher education. The staff is accommodating and helps the kids prep the syllabus. There is also a good amount of exposure to the cultural aspect and storytelling, which helps cultivate love and interest in Maharashtrian culture. It allows kids to see “more kids just like them” learning our language together. The staff ensures that there is a good balance between fun and teaching. I would call out that parents must put 30 to 45 mins to help the kids with their studies. This will only set them up for success and help them achieve their goals faster. I could not be more thankful for this community & the teachers – they truly go above and beyond.

We have our 9 year old attending Nashville Marathi school. He is an avid reader. He wanted to read Marathi books that we have. So we enrolled him in 1st grade.
He has been able to pick writing and reading. He is moving to reading complex words. Kudos to school teachers. They have been amazing. They create fun and enjoyable environment where children can learn new language with ease.
They are also working towards their grade exams.
